Atom Processor for Mobile from Intel Corporation

At the beginning of artificial intelligence device that has a code name of Poulsbo is a product of series Z500 Intel Atom is a series aimed at first-generation small-sized electronic devices such as mobile phones / cell phone. Not only that, Intel also announced a new controller system that integrates graphics capabilities and the hub controller I / O into a chip.

This newer design is suppose to be one of the most power-saving Intel products, which can also be operated in an enclosed space and even without involving the cooling fan. Z500 Series was also carrying a strong resistance to temperature because it can be operated at temperatures of 70 degrees Celsius. This Intel Atom chip consumes less power than 5 watts and depends on the existing components.

Based on these specifications, Intel claims that the Z500 can be used for new types of device classes are named with mobile media. Mobile media itself is a device with a type mobile phone that has a size bigger than your smart phone, or better known as SmartPhone and Mobile Internet Devices (MID) or netbook. As a reference, Intel give the design a product using 1GB of RAM, 8 GB flash memory, 8.9-inch touch screen to play videos on YouTube and the Internet as VoIP calls, and have USB ports, Ethernet and HDMI.

This series begins with the presence of four processors including the Z510 and Z510P menggukan system clock speed of 1.1 GHz. Both use a 400 MHz FSB and cache level 2 (L2) 512 KB. Z510 consume power 2 Watts and comes in sizes such as atom chips at this point. While type Z510P consumes greater power about 2.2 watts and has a size larger than the Z510. Other series, such as use traditional Z520 with 1.3 GHz Clock Speed 533 MHz FSB and it works. While the best series held by the Z530 and Z530P who works at a clock speed of 1.6 GHz.

Intel-based products Z500 series is expected to begin expanding into Apple vendors who would use the Poulsbo-based products and the smaller processor called Silverthorne. However, as we all know Apple already has a long-term commitment to continue to use the ARM processor on the iPhone and iPod Touch and it is likely not to use Intel products.
